Best Practices: Using the Browser User Interface

Oracle B2C Service currently has two interfaces: the original .NET console (.NET) and the newer agent browser UI (BUI). As a best practice we recommend using BUI rather than .NET whenever possible. This means the BUI console should be used for all agent tasks and administrators should utilize the BUI console for admin tasks whenever possible.  Please note however that some admin features are only available in .NET.

Depending on the nature of a given technical issue, customers may be asked to migrate to BUI for a specific resolution.  If a technical issue is only present in the .NET console, meaning testing indicates the BUI console behaves as expected, this will be recommended.

Development focuses on delivering new features and defect fixes to the BUI console.  BUI offers significant improvements over .NET, including a more intuitive design and advantages in performance, simpler maintenance, platform expansion, browser technologies, future proofing, continuous delivery, and new staffing solutions.

Adopting the best practice of using BUI whenever possible will lead to the best outcomes for support issues.

Hello - would it be possible to get a Blog/Best Practice article to show some smart/clever ways to make use of the BUI in terms of layout and style - multi-column layouts, flip-tiles, etc. to make the best use of a web-enabled user interface.

It would also be good to see plugin/extensibility options that are available within the BUI model.
