PRO TIP - DOMAIN MANAGEMENT IN CONFIGURATION ASSISTANT
With the migration of B2C Service mail to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), administrators must register and authenticate all non-Oracle-owned email domains in the Configuration Assistant to avoid mail delivery rejections. This process affects all outgoing communications, including service mailboxes, outreach, port schedules, and incident forwards. By completing the steps in this Pro Tip, organizations ensure compliant and authenticated outgoing email, streamlining mail delivery and protecting against rejections during and after the OCI migration.
Key steps and features:
- Domain Registration:
- Adding a domain requires ownership or DNS control; public mail provider domains (e.g., Gmail, Hotmail) are not allowed.
- Registration is performed under the e-domains tab > “Add Domain”.
- DKIM Configuration:
- Generate and assign DKIM keys by selecting “Add DKIM”, choosing the domain, and entering a unique selector (up to 63 alphanumeric characters, usually lowercase, and ideally with a date for key rotation tracking).
- Share the generated DNS record with DNS administrators to complete verification.
- Approved Sender Setup:
- Approved sender addresses (or wildcard domains) can only be added if DKIM is enabled for the domain.
- Use the “Add Approved Sender” option after DKIM setup.
- Migration Management:
- Administrators will be notified ahead of their site's scheduled migration.
